Pope St.. John XXIII promoted devotion to the Precious Blood. It has been said that he came to realize the value of blood while serving as a medic in WWI.
I have a question here about language. Is "poured" a word that implies intention as opposed to "spilled" which seems almost accidental, at least in contemporary ways of speaking?
Always appreciate your thoughts and writing, but thanks for introducing me to this architectural wonder (and that green roof!) -- so much still to discover in this life!
What a beautiful story--thank you, Denise! I was a parishioner at the New Cathedral when I lived in St. Louis 15 years ago, and had the privilege of being married there, too. It is a church that will always hold a very special place in my heart.
Your writing is absolutely lyrical, Denise--I so look forward to each of your posts! You are on my prayer list as well! Blessings, Marguerite
This is so utterly beautiful, both the imagery of the Cathedral and the meaning you invoke.
Thank you, Kim!

Amazing story! Thank you for sharing. I’ve never been to St. Louis, but now I have a BIG reason to go there
You would love it, Marcy!
Time to come for a visit! We St. Louisans love our city!!!
Amen!
