A fabulous piece! My Son, my Son, my only Son! After three beautiful daughters, he arrived! Leaving him was crushing but grace makes all things possible. The man he has become is amazing! His beautiful wife and 4 glorious God Gifts is priceless! Yes, we must let them go to be all they were born to be!
Great writing as usual. I had never heard the term inscapist until I started reading your Substack so I was surprised to hear the priests on the podcast Catholic Stuff You Should Know talking about what it means on their episode entitled The Poet’s Eye and God’s Voice. If you are interested to hear how they define it start listening around the 34 minute mark but the whole podcast is definitely worth listening to.
Beautiful, Denise! May we share this in our May issue of Signs + Seasons?
Oh sure! I would be honored. I love your Signs and Seasons! Thank you for asking me, Kristin!
Beautiful!

How amazing you can relate today’s concerns/moments to Jesus’s life. My baby leaves for college this summer and this hit home for me.
My favorite poet is Gerard Manley Hopkins. He coined the phrase and I loved it! ❤️😊
