You look lovely and so stylish in your bejeweled beanie. I’m so glad you’ve made it through your treatment and are seeing the return of your hair. I’m continuing to pray for your strength and full recovery!

Boy! If ever I have cancer (runs on both sides of the family) I will read this again. You are such a great gift of God to share your heart with us all. My husband (Al) and I are picking up my sis, Noeline, who had double mastectomy this past Monday and seems to be holding up well. Continued prayers for you, Denise. Love your beanie and brooches. Noeline is great with making all sorts of earrings, necklaces, etc. She refused to have implants so am wondering if she'll come up with some ideas of decorating around there. She's quite creative. Strong lady. I've friends after chemo, whose hair came back beautifully and more black than before.

Your hair will come back, I promise. One day your eyes will begin to itch. Rub softly: it’s your eye lashes growing back in! I experienced a craving for fish. My doctor said it’s usually for sweets. Fish was a new one for him. When I asked him if I could poach my fish in bourbon, he laughed and said no, but it’s always good to have a goal. Such a great guy. My blood test showed no active cancers. Every day now is a big bright gift from God.

When you appear in my inbox, I stop everything to read your beautiful words. You calm and make my day!♥️

I have been praying for you since I subscribed, and ask all my friends who are journeying the same road to pray for you too… I still grieve the loss of my dad, my daughter-in-law’s mama who I got on well with! And yes, you are right, humour and that special care either outward or in secret, bind you to that person in such a special way…. I miss them both. The journey is hard but when you have others to walk beside you - the sky becomes blue-er , the sun shines like warms hugs and your heart sings (even though you can’t hold a note) with the love of others who truly understand and want so much to bless you! (I’m Italian- I smother my friends with food😁) God bless you Denise, if I didn’t live so far I would have dropped in with trays of lasagna, parmigiana with salad and a dessert of tirimisu for afters! We would stuffed!!! And a cuppa!

Sending you the “means” for you enjoy it with a loved one it friend🙏🏻♥️🌹

This is beautiful. I walked with two dear friends through cancer and talking about the hard things was so sweet and so hard at the same time. Thank you for your honesty. So happy it is almost over for you!

I love your writing and I so appreciate what you have written today. My best friend went through chemo and we always met for coffee every few weeks. One day her scarf started to slip off and I asked her if I could tie it back onto her head. I was a little nervous, but humbled that she would let me. A few months later she told me it was the most tender and sweetest gesture anyone has ever done for her in a very long time. She is single and never married, no children. Please keep her in your prayers for clean scans, and I will keep you in mine.

Your writing really inspires me. Thank you and congrats on finishing strong this chapter of your story.

Denise,

My goodness.

How can you write such lovely words in the midst, well I guess hopefully now the end, of such a trying time?

Thank you for such vivid images and kind insightful observations.

I always love whatever you write.

May the LORD grant you complete healing and many more years to write.

I keep you in my prayers.

Most sincerely,

A devoted reader.
