Growing up I often heard those wise words, “don’t wish your life away”, but how much more true, profound and beautiful they become with your reflection on how God wishes to dwell in our Domestic Church, but often finds us absent. Wonderful thought for me this Lent. Keeping you in my prayers. God bless!
Thank you, Denise, for this sharing of St. Benedict’s life and he’s still influencing the world with you, with us in our domestic churches. May we be at peace where we are planted. Have a blessed weekend.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
"Bloom where you are planted," said Mary Engelbreit. (spelling?) Too many times, though, we make all these plans - and God just laughs. The unique qualities of a family you speak of, those virtues shared and learned, and handed down to future generations, qualities and virtues God chose to instill in one or a few, and then, like the proverbial pebble in a pond, rippled out to others. Yes, helping each other get to heaven in the way God has planned. Letter writing! A long-forgotten way to love an other, permanent and stable, a testimonial of heartfelt thoughts describing how He does dwell among us, and actually mailing that love letter to a beloved person who would so appreciate opening a hand-written note.
Yet another beautiful piece on one of my favorite saints. Thank you, Denise. I especially love the reflection on family life.
Thank you, Irene! ❤️
