Thank you. I have read or am reading several of these books. I "discovered" Caryll Houselander years ago when my Spiritual Director suggested The Reed of God for Lent. At the time her other books were out of print and nearly impossible to obtain. Now they are more available. Rumer Godden is on my shelf as well. I had no idea how many books she'd written. There is a heart by the Wendell Berry book. Is that the best of the best? Happy reading in 2025

Jayber Crow was lyrical and so beautiful. It stayed with me a long, long time after. You enter a world when you open its covers. I loved it very much!

I really enjoyed The Upside-Down World: Meetings With the Dutch Masters last year! A nice surprise seeing that on your list. I read Five For Sorrow, Ten for Joy and In This House of Brede by Godden two years ago. I thought her writing was excellent in both, though Five For Sorrow was a bit dark for me. But I'll be looking into those other two Godden books you shared!

They are both part of her autobiography and they read like a great adventure! I loved them! I think you will as well.
