Yesterday was the feast of Blessed Michelina of Pesaro. I think she was on St. Francis's radar as one of his true children from the day she was born. She was very much like him in the beginning of things. But he had to wait a while to claim her as his daughter. He waited patiently from heaven. He probably always remembered how long it had taken HIM to turn to the Lord with all his heart.
Thank you so much for sharing these stories of the saints. I am starting the process to convert to Catholicism (grew up evangelical) and a whole new world is opening up to me through your stories. They (you) are growing my love for God.
I too hope you write a book. I would love a copy for my our coffee table: so those who visit can browse through it also.
I am so glad for you, Anna! I will add you to my daily rosary as you journey on you path to the Catholic Church. I am truly touched to be a part of that! ❤️
your words are so clever. I just love the line "Never underestimate the power of the mother gene! " It filled me with joy and the rest of the story was joyful too.
Thank you again, Denise, for another compelling story! You should write a book of more obscure saints and all the Syriacas who guided them to heaven. Your stories are so much more relatable than most (if not all) of the other stories of the saints I have read. Most of the ones I’ve read make being a saint sound like lots of pain and sacrifice and drudgery without the balance of the love (Love!) and grace that drew them to make those sacrifices.
