Oh, Denise - you’re such a trooper and fighter! You’re the apple of God’s eyes for sure. I love all the beautiful, colorful jewelries and such that you have. My younger sister is about to go through surgery for her breast cancer and I’ll have to encourage her that way. She’s very gifted with making very colorful bracelets, necklaces, etc…Praying that you’ll be cancer free for a long, long time. Blessed Easter, Denise and to your wonderful husband and sons and daughters and grandchildren. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🌺🌷🌸

What a beautiful and powerful posture of acceptance and gratitude! Praise God that you’re done with chemo and rang the bell to wellness! May you continue to wake each morning and “give God a fashion show” (that totally made me smile!!). A new show has emerged: THE CREATIVITY OF JOY.

“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace… .” Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭12‬

God bless you and Tony, Denise. I have been waiting to read this post since the day you disclosed you had cancer and would be undergoing chemo. You did not disappoint. You never do. Deo gratias!

Beautiful and inspiring as always, Denise. Praised be Jesus Christ that you are cancer-free! I am so grateful that you were able to write through it all and share the fruit of your suffering with us. I am certain it was no small thing.

I know most assuredly that we all ought to have this beautiful posture in seasons of suffering. You and your writing are a gift. You are in my prayers.

Praise to God that you are finished with your Chemo. You have a way with words that speak to this introverted analytic soul.

I salute you, fellow introvert!

Praise God!!! Thank you for sharing this news!! You have shown us all a way to truly give suffering as a gift to God and to others—to reframe it so that it becomes valuable and not just something to endure with gritted teeth and clenched fists. I will save this treasure to refer back to over the years to come.

Praise be to God that you have slain the dragon of cancer! I can relate to the sense of beauty that you are compelled to maintain through your colorful jewelry, scarves, socks, etc., while undergoing grueling chemotherapy. My cancer battle is a little different than yours, since mine is metastatic, and let’s face it, everyone’s cancer battle is unique. But, it is such a blessing to embrace challenges with joy. I consciously try to listen to uplifting music. I go about my daily life doing the mundane things that must be done, such as laundry, because, well, they must be done. Prayer leads to joy, and praying for others, even more joy. Your writing is always so uplifting, and I look forward to reading your writings, as you really inspire me. Also, hair does grow back after chemotherapy, but it’s a long process. Mine grew back curly for a while, and now has settled more on a frizzy texture. Patience is certainly required!

Thank you for reading, Robin! And thanks for the insights on the hair journey. It seems everything about cancer requires patience, doesn’t it!! I will add you to my Cancer rosary for all those battling now!

I read your story and sobbed, then I read parts to my husband and he sobbed too. I hope to ring the bell on May 19 but I admit I have had doubts about my ability to “suffer well” until then. I promised myself before chemo began that I would keep my eyes on Jesus, but it’s been tougher than I anticipated not to look at the waves and the storm. You have given me hope, though, to march on. As my mother reminded me today, when I am weak then I am strong. Thank you so very much!

I will keep you in special prayer until May 19th! It is truly just A hard, hard slog when you are in the middle of it. I so get it! But you will be so happy to have reached the end!! ❤️
